NUURUZ AI — Terms of Use
1. Introduction
These Terms govern your access to NUURUZ AI, including its website, applications, AI systems, voice, memory, APIs and related services. By creating an account or using NUURUZ AI, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Our Purpose
NUURUZ AI is designed primarily for Africa and the global African diaspora, with particular attention to African knowledge, cultures, languages, histories, communities and perspectives. An Afrocentric perspective does not permit fabricated facts, suppression of legitimate criticism or unequal treatment based on race, ethnicity, nationality or origin.
3–6. Eligibility, Accounts, AI Limitations and Acceptable Use
You may use NUURUZ only where legally permitted. Age and parental-consent rules may apply. Provide accurate registration information, protect your credentials and do not impersonate others or use stolen information. AI can be inaccurate, incomplete or outdated; independently verify information affecting health, safety, finances, legal rights, employment, education or other important decisions. Lawful education, research, creativity, translation, software development, business, communication, cultural exploration, productivity and legitimate cybersecurity are permitted. Sensitive subjects are not automatically prohibited when discussed for legitimate educational, journalistic, historical, scientific or preventative purposes.
7. Child Safety
Zero tolerance applies to child sexual abuse or exploitation, including CSAM, grooming, child trafficking, sexualization of minors, sextortion involving minors, facilitating adult-minor sexual contact, instructions facilitating child abuse, or encouraging children to undertake seriously dangerous activity. Suspected exploitation may be reported where required or permitted by law.
8–13. Sexual Exploitation, Trafficking, Violence, Terrorism, Weapons and Illegal Drugs
NUURUZ must not be used to facilitate rape, sexual assault, trafficking, coercion, non-consensual intimate content, slavery, forced labour, forced marriage, murder, kidnapping, torture, violent attacks, terrorism, violent-extremist recruitment or operations, serious weapons harm, explosives, chemical/biological/radiological/nuclear harm, or serious illegal drug manufacturing or trafficking. Legitimate safety, historical, scientific, medical, harm-reduction, journalistic and educational discussion remains permitted.
14. Fraud, Scams and Theft
Do not use NUURUZ for fraud, scams, identity theft, payment-card theft, phishing, money laundering, counterfeiting, credential theft, fraudulent investment/loan/employment schemes, romance scams or theft of money, property or confidential information.
15. Cybersecurity Abuse
Malicious or unauthorized intrusion, credential theft, malware, ransomware, destructive attacks, unauthorized surveillance, data theft and system disruption are prohibited. Lawful defensive security, authorized penetration testing, security research and education are permitted.
16–17. Privacy, Biometrics and Identity
Do not unlawfully expose private information, track or identify people, steal data or credentials, conduct invasive surveillance, or upload information you lack a lawful right to provide. Unlawful biometric databases, facial recognition, biometric identification and prohibited biometric surveillance are not allowed.
18. Racism, Ethnic Hatred and Anti-African Abuse
NUURUZ exists to serve Africa and the African diaspora while respecting everyone’s dignity. It must not be used to promote violence, persecution, dehumanization or serious targeted abuse based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or other protected characteristics. NUURUZ must not knowingly present racial or colonial stereotypes about African peoples as established facts without reliable evidence. Legitimate discussion of racism, ethnicity, colonialism, slavery, discrimination, politics and history remains permitted.
19–22. Harassment, Self-Harm, Dangerous Challenges and Exploitation
Credible threats, stalking, sustained targeted harassment, blackmail, intimidation, doxxing and coordinated serious abuse are prohibited. NUURUZ must not encourage or materially facilitate suicide or serious self-harm, or dangerous challenges posing foreseeable serious injury/death. Deliberately manipulating or exploiting vulnerable people to defraud, coerce or seriously harm them is prohibited.
23. High-Impact Decisions
NUURUZ output should not be the sole basis for decisions determining another person's important rights or opportunities where law or professional standards require human judgment, including employment, housing, lending, insurance, healthcare, education admissions, essential government services and comparable decisions.
24–30. Other Prohibited Use
Illegal gambling operations, fraudulent gambling, unlawful spam, fraudulent mass communications, harmful impersonation, deceptive AI use constituting fraud or material harm, intellectual-property abuse, fraudulent academic impersonation, deliberate safety-system circumvention, attacks on NUURUZ infrastructure, unauthorized access, technical restriction bypass and malicious exploitation are prohibited.
31–36. Content, Output, Accuracy, Voice, Memory and Improvement
You retain rights you have in submitted content and grant NUURUZ permissions reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain and improve the service subject to the Privacy Policy and law. AI output may not be unique; users must evaluate it before relying on or publishing it. Afrocentric design never permits fabricated history, statistics, sources or science. Voice and memory features may process relevant data as described in the Privacy Policy. Service data may be processed for security, abuse prevention, reliability, debugging and lawful improvement.
37–39. Paid Services, Payments and Refunds
NUURUZ may offer subscriptions, credits and paid features. Material pricing and conditions should be presented before purchase. Third-party payment providers may process payments. Refund, cancellation and subscription rights depend on the product and applicable law; mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
40–42. Enforcement, Illegal Activity and Appeals
NUURUZ may refuse requests, provide safer responses, restrict features, warn, suspend or terminate accounts based on severity. Where legally required or permitted, relevant information concerning severe illegal activity or immediate threats may be preserved or disclosed to competent authorities. Appropriate appeal methods may be provided where available or legally required.
43–49. Service Conditions and Legal Protections
NUURUZ does not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features may change or be discontinued. Accounts may be restricted for serious/repeated violations, fraud, security threats, non-payment or legal requirements. AI accuracy, completeness and suitability are not guaranteed. Liability is limited only to the extent permitted by law; mandatory consumer protections and liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded remain unaffected. Users are responsible for applicable local laws.
50. Governing Law and Disputes
The governing-law, jurisdiction and dispute-resolution provisions will be identified based on the legal entity operating the service and mandatory consumer protections. Nothing removes mandatory consumer rights.
NUURUZ Personal Assistant (NIA)
NIA is an optional Personal Assistant feature available worldwide. A user may voluntarily provide information for NIA to remember and may control permitted Personal memory categories and related Personal features. NIA is designed to provide continuity, reminders, planning, supportive conversation and other Personal Assistant functions while remaining an AI service and not a human person, parent, medical professional, lawyer or other licensed professional.
Personal Vault and administrator boundary: Personal information intentionally stored in the NIA Personal Vault is private to the user. The NUURUZ admin cockpit is not designed to let administrators, including the operator/owner, browse or read a user's Personal memory content. Administrators may access non-content operational and security telemetry needed to operate the service. Users remain responsible for deciding what information they choose to place in NIA and must not submit third-party information unlawfully.
Users may delete individual Personal memories or their NIA Personal data using available controls. Deleted Personal Vault content is not promised to be recoverable, and users should not rely on NIA as their sole archival or backup system. Any retention that is technically necessary or legally required is governed by the Privacy Policy and applicable law. Optional proactive features, including Care Check-ins, may be enabled or disabled by the user.
51–54. Changes, Severability, Agreement and Contact
These Terms may be updated as NUURUZ develops or laws change. Material changes will receive notice where required. If one provision is unenforceable, remaining provisions continue where permitted. These Terms, the Privacy Policy and applicable service-specific terms form the agreement governing NUURUZ. Questions may be submitted through NUURUZ's official Contact Us page.
Registration Acceptance
Registration requires an unchecked acceptance control for the Terms of Use and acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy. The Terms and Privacy Policy must be independently readable. Mandatory legal acceptance must remain separate from optional marketing consent. NUURUZ should securely record the applicable document versions, account and acceptance timestamp.
